After several months of music, hard work and tension filled shows, the on-going Etisalat sponsored Nigerian Idol is finally down to the Top 2 contestants; the small but very mighty, Dolu and the King of Fuji, K-Peace
The Top 2 contestants presented songs from African Legends, then a Judges’ and Idol’s Song. While Dolu performed,‘Time After Time’ by Cyndi Lauper, Onyeka Onwenu’s ‘One Love’, and ‘Conqueror’ by Estelle, K-Peace delivered his rendition of ‘Try Jah Love’ by Third World, ‘African Style’ by Bright Chimezie, and ‘All of Me’ by John Legend.
Dolu’s performances were described as “flawless and amazing” as brutally honest judge, Dede Mabiaku described the 25 year old Dolu as a “Clinical Vocal Queen.” After the performances from K-Peace, the last man standing in the Etisalat-Sponsored competition, the judges described his performances as an “effortless delivery of perfection”.
“I am blessed and privileged to have come this far in the competition,” said an excited Dolu. K-Peace added, “I am grateful to Nigerians for keeping me in this competition thus far, and I hope they keep voting for me till the end of the show.”
“It is officially a battle of sexes and a very tough decision for the voting public because both finalists are talented. Without doubt, the voting public will select who they are most convinced deserves to win”Head, Events and Sponsorship, Etisalat Nigeria, Modupe Thani said after the show.
It’s crunch time now as the winner will be crowned on June 13th at the grand finale of the show. So Nigeria, it’s time to vote for your favourite contestant. Will it be Dolu or K-Peace?
This season’s winner will go home with N7.5 million cash, a brand new car and a recording deal with Universal Music Company worth N7.5 million, amongst other prizes.The first runner up will walk away with a cash prize of N1.5 million as well as a Samsung tab.
